Labradoodle - Polly

Peter emailed me when Polly was only 8 weeks old, he did not really have any major worries or concerns with Polly but felt that as Polly was having to blend into a fairly busy household with young and elderly people it might be a good idea for Polly's owner to have a brush up on new puppy ownership!!

Peter found this meeting very useful and informative and we subsequently had another meeting a few weeks later with other family members who were involved in Polly's upbringing.

Possibly the biggest hurdle for Peter and his wife was at the 4/5 month stage with Polly when she would target walkers by lunging at them and planting her muddy paws over their often very clean clothes. And it was at this stage that Peter emailed me again requesting we all go out for a walk together so l could witness Polly in action.

We practiced with a method of correcting serial jumper-uppers!! And Peter still has a bit more work to do in this area but he recently emailed me with a progress report on Polly now she is a beautiful fully grown 16 month old Labradoodle. This is what Peter had to say:

"We are into the teen years now I suppose. Thanks to you Polly is a wonderful and much loved friend. Brilliant with my younger grandchildren who try to torment her and tolerant of the older. Polly is certainly a rascal, in itself quite endearing in the main, but with your invaluable input in her early life has become far more than I could have wished for. At 16 Kg she is solid muscle and sinew and very popular with other dogs. Largely fearless but yet wary of people or other dogs when appropriate (6th sense! I should say so) she's just an all round superstar. That's all down to you. "
